Memory 01 (Starter)

Memory 01 / Significant Neutral
The Murksweats.

Anduin is sitting in a giant pile of dead snakes, knife in hand, when he is approached by a few adventurers asking what they can do for help. He responds with the following:
Take a good look. The river nearby is swarming with these snakes. Their venom causes a condition the locals call "the murksweats."
Several refugees were bitten as they fled the temple and have already begun to show symptoms: nausea, vomiting, and intense sweating as the body rejects all fluids, causing dehydration and potentially death.
We are administering anti-venom as quickly as possible, but we'll need more venom glands. Don't bother removing the glands yourself - just bring back the whole head.

When one of the adventurers asks why he's out in the middle of the wilds instead of back at home, he responds rather saucily:
Anduin: If you've come to return me to my father, I must ask that you look around us first - can we truly walk away from these people in their time of need and still claim to represent the Alliance?
Adventurer: How did you end up here?
Anduin: When the SI:7 found me, they wanted to take me home. I ran away. It wasn't long before the Horde found me. During the battle at Serpent's Heart, I managed to slip away in the chaos. A merchant allowed me to ride with his family as they fled west, to Zhu's Watch. It was there that I met Mei Barrelbottom. She told me of the Crane Wing order, and on her advice I accompanied a courier to the temple to seek an audience with Chi-Ji, the Red Crane. I was studying with the disciples there when the sha arrived.
Adventurer: Why didn't you return to Stormwind with the SI:7?
Anduin: I could not bear to sit in Stormwind Keep while my people's blood spills here! Pandaria has much to teach us. There is great power here. Power that could save thousands of lives. And I aim to find it.

Satisfied for the time being, the adventurer runs off to get snakes as Anduin continues to cut the venom glands from the ones he already has -- "inside the jaw, two inches behind the first set of fangs" -- as he waits for the person's return. When they come back with the snakes, he finishes those up as the adventurer runs around doing other things for the disciples that are out in the wilderness with Anduin. Eventually, one of the Pandaren men calls Anduin over to talk with him and the helpful adventurers.
Koro Mistwalker: Will you join me? With the saurok threat at bay for now, it's time we discuss our next move.
Anduin Wrynn: Certainly. There should be plenty of anti-venom, thanks to this adventurer.
Koro Mistwalker: Thank you - both of you. The Red Crane has always symbolized hope to our people, but in his absence, I fear that even my thoughts began to darken.
Anduin Wrynn: Think no more on despair, Koro. We have a saying where I'm from: It is darkest just before the dawn.
Koro Mistwalker chuckles.
Koro Mistwalker: That it is. You speak with a wisdom beyond your years. If we get through this, I think I'd like to know more about where you're from.

Effects:
- Understands that he's someone important, or at least, important enough that someone is concerned that he's out in the middle of the wilderness gutting snakes instead of at home.
- Is a part of something called the "Alliance," whatever that is.
- Escaped from a group of people called SI:7, and was apparently kidnapped by a group called the "Horde," though Anduin can note that he doesn't say it with as much malice as you'd expect in that position. So clearly, although he wasn't happy about that, he's not mad at them.
- Is a certified hitchhiker! Way to go.
- There was some battle?? Or something? War?
- Was a disciple of a person called the Red Crane before the temple apparently came under attack and they had to flee. That explains why they're in tents in the middle of a giant forest.
+1000 healer dere. He is a healer, he refuses to let people suffer and sit back and do nothing! He wants to be in the center of the action, helping people. This memory definitely cements the idea that he doesn't want to be passive while other people suffer on his behalf.
- Lives in a place called "Stormwind."
- The place he's in is called "Pandaria." And also it's apparently very common for there to be talking panda people about! At least one of the adventurers is distinctly non-human, as well, so other races seem familiar to him.
+100 "I will care for other people above my own comfort"
+1000 optimism
+50 desire to quote cheesy proverbs

OVERALL this memory is pretty important, because Anduin will understand that he's someone who normally shouldn't be out doing these types of things, but he didn't care and did it anyway. And the reason he did it was because he's a polite and conscientious young man who can't stand to see people suffer. He's doing this all because he cares, which is the major point to take away from this.
